Casual as Fuck 2001/2002

The last TCSL Championship with me at the helm. We had drafted in a lot of younger players, but the heart and soul of the team were still the older heads such as Mike, Graeme, Dan, Dave and Billy.
We lost in the Cup Final in a heartbreaking penalty shoot out. The fact that we got the game that far was an acheivement in itself seeing we had 3 red cards during the game. We lost a handful of big games over the years and it always seemed to be tied to the fact that we either had a crucial goal disallowed, a dodgy penalty against us or had players sent off. The bottom line is the referee's fucking hated us during our time in the league, you could argue sour grapes, but as a referee myself and dealing with these people away from the game I know what a bitter and power hungry shower of shit this lot tend to be.
The league championship was pretty convincing though as we eventually finished a healthy 9 points clear of our closest rivals.
During our golden years in the TCSL the Casuals FC played a total of 98 league games, we won 87 of those, drawing 7 and losing just 4.
During those league matches we scored a total of 446 goals, conceeding 93 while recording 33 clean sheets.
During that time we accumilated a total of 45 red cards or slightly more than one every other game, which is another story.
Also we won the Cup 3 times, losing once in the final and one other time in the semi finals, not too shabby.
We also went up to the tournament at UCSB and became the first team from the TCSL to win it, not bad going for something that started up as a bunch of misfits and for a laugh between a group of mates.
